Abstract

This article is the result of an ethnographic study conducted at an Evangelical church in the city of São Paulo – Brazil. Using the cases of male youths who are affirmed heterosexuals, I seek to analyze the emergence and the decline of cosmologies, discourses and socializing strategies of the church about ways of thinking of dissidences in the encounter with the subjects and practices of homosexuality in the temple and the street. In this process of socialization of affective and sexual desire, I trace the signs of the times and the signs of the places lived by these youths in religion and in the city.

Resumo

Este artigo é resultado de uma etnografia realizada em uma igreja evangélica da cidade de São Paulo – Brasil. Por meio dos casos de jovens meninos “heterossexuais assumidos”, buscam-se analisar a emergência e o declínio de cosmologias, discursos e estratégias da igreja sobre modos de julgar as dissidências no encontro com a “homossexualidade”, os sujeitos e suas práticas, no templo e na rua. Neste processo de socialização dos gostos afetivo-sexuais, rastreiam-se os sinais dos tempos e os sinais dos lugares vividos por esses jovens na religião e na cidade..

Résumé
