Abstract

From a course of research accomplished in France, this article deals with the ethnographical approach of the forms of social intervention and the dialogs thence resulting. The disputes and identity definitions observed at an institution of family housing in the island d’Yeu, whose main purpose is the protection of children, will serve as a support to the proposition that this type of study justifies itself as much as general categories of classification of target-problems of social policies have the effect of extinguishing individualities.

Resumo

A partir de um percurso de pesquisa realizado na França este artigo tematiza a abordagem etnográfica dos modos de intervenção social e os diálogos dela decorrentes. As disputas e definições identitárias observadas numa instituição de acolhimento familiar, situada na ilha d’Yeu e cujo principal objetivo é a proteção das crianças, servirão como suporte à proposição de que este tipo de estudo justifica-se na medida em que categorias gerais de classificação de problemáticas-alvo das políticas sociais têm como efeito apagar as individualidades.

Résumé

A partir d’un parcours de recherche réalisé en France, cet article thématise l’intérêt de l’approche ethnographique des modes d’intervention sociale et des dialogues qui peuvent en découler. Les repérages identitaires observés dans une institution d’accueil familial, située sur l’île d’Yeu et dont le principal objectif est la protection des enfants serviront de support à l’idée que ce genre d’étude trouve toute sa place lorsque des catégories générales de classification des problématiques ciblées par les politiques sociales ont comme effet le gommage des individualités.
